Across the Abyss

“How to imagine Nebraska? I try to see with a child’s vision. I think about time; the now, the how it was, and the long before. I think about my son; he is Nebraskan, half from here and half from elsewhere.”
This new exhibit features works that imagine Nebraska from the perspective of artist Santiago Cal and his travels throughout the state. Fictitious events, places, and mechanisms plucked from the real.
This exhibition, Across the Abyss, will feature new work by Santiago Cal, who is a working artist in Lincoln Nebraska and Professor of Art in the School of Art, Art History and Design at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
