The Fremont Creative District encompasses the historic downtown of Fremont, Nebraska, located just west of Omaha and northeast of Lincoln. Fremont is the seat of Dodge County with a population of over 27,000 residents. Downtown Fremont is home to a number of longstanding cultural, commercial, and civic buildings and offers a range of activities appealing to residents and college students, as well as regional visitors and tourists.
Satellite locations of the Fremont Creative District include Keene Memorial Library (newly expanded in 2023) and the City Auditorium, both within a block of the district perimeter. The Dodge County Historical Society, housed in the Louis E. May Museum, is also a satellite location, about 12 blocks from the district perimeter.
The Fremont Creative District is abundant with activities including summer, family-friendly concerts in John C. Fremont Park, art walks and local performances. Annual events like John C. Fremont Days, Fremont’s Hispanic Festival, and the Christmas Walk keep the magic of each season alive. Shopping and dining abound in downtown Fremont, from boutique clothing stores, niche gifts and art, craft beer and cocktails to Mexican, Thai and artisan breads.
