Hugo Zamorano
During residencies with Hugo, students will create murals that are expressive and representative of their environments, ideas, and aspirations. His residencies introduce participants to spray paint, including learning safety and different techniques about its use. Hugo’s activities involve collaborative work among participants, and he teaches them about the history of graffiti writing, as well as looking to graffiti and street art contemporaries for further inspiration.
Hugo earned his BFA degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He has gained mural and teaching experience with the Kent Bellows Mentoring Program, Why Arts, Joslyn Art Museum, and El Museo Latino. He has also created community murals as part of the ‘Midsummer’s Mural’ team. His mural artwork can be found in a number of places in the Omaha metropolitan area, including UNO, Amplify Arts, Papio West and Keystone Bike Trails, Bryan High School, and Werner Park.
