Crane Theory
Crane Theory is a fusion band specializing in jazz, funk, rock, gospel and blues, delivering a high-energy performance that is both interesting and entertaining.
The group consists of educated musicians with extensive backgrounds in education. Jesse McBee, a PhD candidate in jazz studies, teaches at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, while Lucas Kellison, an EdD candidate at Doane University, teaches at the high school level. A working musician since the age of 15, Kellison has also toured with blues band Magic Slim & The Teardrops, hall-of-fame funk band Parliament Funkadelic and a cappella group No Better Cause. Crane Theory, in its short time, has already opened for The Temptations, George Clinton and Rusted Root and has many such dates lined up in the near future. They released their first album, titled “Migration” in 2019 and are working on their second album.
