Nebraska Arts Council’s Artist Roster helps nonprofit organizations and schools bring accomplished artists and performers into communities, giving people the chance to enjoy art to which they may not otherwise have access while ensuring artists get paid for their work.
The Artist Roster lists participating touring and teaching artists and exhibits. New roster artists must apply to be considered. Applications are reviewed by a panel, which makes recommendations to the Nebraska Arts Council for approval.
The Artists in Schools/Communities (AiS/C) Program and Creative Aging Arts Program (CAAP) introduce people to the arts through residencies and visits in which an artist interacts with participants. The artist shares their artistic expertise and engages students, teachers, administrators, and the community in workshops, classes, and presentations.
Professional artists in all disciplines can apply. Applicants must reside in Nebraska or within states contiguous to Nebraska. In general, students are not eligible. View the current Artist Roster.
Artist applications for AiS/C and CAAP are separate.
The annual AiS/C application deadline is December 2.
Applications for CAAP begin with training in the field of creative aging. The next CAAP training program beginning in December 2024 is full and applications are closed.
Accepted artists demonstrate a high level of professional artistic accomplishment, as well as instructional experience and professionalism. Applications are accepted for the purpose of review by the Nebraska Arts Council’s artist review panel after an interview. Inclusion in the Artist Roster is not a guarantee of employment.
Nebraska presenters and sponsors book engagements and develop schedules directly with teaching artists.
The artist is paid directly by the sponsoring school or organization upon completion of the residency and agrees to abide by pre-determined fees.
