Meagan Dion

Public Art and Artists Program Specialist

Meagan Dion administers the state-mandated 1% for Art public art program and the Individual Artist Fellowships Program at Nebraska Arts Council. She also oversees the Fred Simon Gallery and Governor’s Residence Exhibition Program. Dion is also on the Advisory Board for the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for Arts in Nebraska City.

After receiving her BA in Art History at the University of Central Missouri in 2011, she earned her MS in Arts Administration at Drexel University in Philadelphia and has held a variety of art-related positions in museums, galleries, and other non-profit organizations. Her role as the Lead Curator at the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota offered opportunities to think critically while managing exhibitions and collections.

In her current and previous roles, her favorite aspect includes developing productive and meaningful relationships with artists, peers, and constituents. She resides in Alvo, where on her small farm, she is an avid gardener.
